Usually I’d start with a picture. People respond well to pictures, particularly ones that set an entry’s tone. But not tonight. I’m using this song as a reminder of why I got into writing about music in the first place. Suffice it to say I’m disappointed in myself for needing a reminder, but I’m hoping a jump start will get me moving again. Sorry for having to apologize one last time for my absence. Never expected to lose sight of things quite so thoroughly.

Also, I can’t believe it’s December already. Seriously, year? December? What gives?

My girlfriend is in New York for the holidays. I imagine you two crossing paths and not knowing it. The chances are slim, but I've turned the city into this magical place where the Ramones still roam.
  • sometimes the old tunes are just what you need to listen to, especially at this time of year. they can remind you of your childhood and that's always a good thing to remember, even if you are listening to the blues! : )

I couldn't agree more. Been listening to Jelly Roll Morton quite a bit this week. I would also recommend "New Orleans Bump," a gorgeous tune.
