Taken from the ever-insightful The Rawking Refuses To Stop!:

“Wagner described the song as being the product of a dream where he and the fallen civil rights icon met at some murkily remembered bar and split a Gibson — the drink, not the guitar.”

I’ll be brief: I love this song; I love Lambchop; I can’t stop listening to their latest release OH(Ohio). Kurt Wagoner’s voice is one of my favorites, and you’ll either love it or hate it. Either way, I can already tell the album has a slot somewhere on my year’s top 10.

You should also visit the above Rawkblog link in order to hear Lambchop’s “National Talk Like A Pirate Day.” There’s something about him crooning the words “They said I was a ditsy housewife, and I have the crude opinions of unpracticed men” that gets me every time.

Don’t take my word for it; check it out!

I now consider myself introduced to Kurt Wagner & Lambchop. I like his lyrics – the poetry of the mundane and the dancing subconscious. His voice, however, reminds me of a billy goat. I'll let a night's sleep decide whether or not I like billy goats.
