PWRFL Power

Sorry for the hiatus, folks. Been feeling blue due to some issues with my Macbook. Am glad to report all is well once more. Expect some politically-charged posts in the upcoming days. But for now….

PWRFL Power – Alma Song

You are not that attractive…
but something makes me feel that you’re going to be my girl.

-PWRFL Power “Alma Song”

Devastatingly earnest. I utilize that word pair often because, simply put, I consider those songs the ones most deserving of praise and the ones most likely to slip under the radar. Music critics are fond of nakedness, true, but not when it’s this shy — the kind of “nakedness” that folds its Linux-themed boxers neatly on your chair and keeps its socks on at all times because the room feels chillier than usual.

PWRFL Power reminds me how much of a Sunday person I am. Museums, strolls through the park. Kiting. Hours at a coffee shop with a pot of tea and an overwhelmed RSS reader. Those are the things I do. Consequently, “Alma Song” is the kind of song I meet at a book fair, nose pressed against novels concerning Oliver Cromwell or Charles Schulz, and the kind of song with which I’m happy to pass Monday morning timidly drinking coffee and reading webcomics.

“We could be the best in town.” sings PWRFL Power. I already think he is.
