It amazes me how well this song mirrors a job hunt. From the silence of unacknowledged e-mails to the first whisper of opportunity. To a lead that falls through when a breakthrough is expected. To drinks, and fuzz, and the words “maybe tomorrow.” Until, finally — when you least expect it — life gains momentum. Taps its fingernails nervously throughout a first phone call. Feels its heart pound a sickly, staccato rhythm throughout a first interview. Rises above the percussive hiccups and beads of sweat to find its voice and realize it’s a strong one, a capable one.
That’s right, folks — I am now employed as a projection booth manager at a midtown art house that primarily screens Bollywood and Asian films! Consider me thrilled. The projection booth is a pretty big part of my life, and I’d missed it terribly. Now I get to spend my days fondling celluloid and watching films I think fantastic in one way or another. Observe:

We screen Karzzz next month, a film in which “Vengeance is back….” I’d expect “Vengeance” to play something significantly more threatening than a Sunburst colored Stratocaster, but hey, what do I know?
Until next time!

Sure, Alfred! Might be a bit of a trek from Florida, though. =)

Congrats on the job, girl! Sounds like fun. Way too much possibility for mischief for me, though. Hehe. Just watched Cecil B. Demented for the hundreth time (app) and this post reminded me of that. For some reason. Anyway, hope your doing well and really hope we can get in touch soon! Ciao!

I've got a job, but I'll save this song for a time when I don't.
